Last night, I met the best teacher in the world.
I’ve always contended that coaching is different than teaching. Now I’m not sure. Being in the presence of this “teacher” changed me wholly and deeply.
Why? What was going on?
I was made more fully aware of my personality patterns
I was made more fully aware of my fears
I was given simple, effective language (often a single word) to put a handle to things I have a tendancy to overthink and overanalyze, removing me from the present. [Some examples: Imagination; good conversation; and beautiful.]
With a few key prompts where I was stuck, I was able to connect a whole bunch of dots (more accurate to say a whole bunch of dots got connected, “I” didn’t really do it).
I was given concrete instruction which was exactly what I needed.
Space was created for me to step aside and let “change” emerge. Change is one of the aspects of unconditional love.
It is an aspect that we can find challenging, in direct proportion to our attachment to how things “should” be.
And, it feels really nice to let change happen.
